Why Defining My Way Academy?

So many women are frustrated and overwhelmed by their current situation.  They feel like they're alone, unsupported, and stuck without any clear guidance or direction on how to develop and meet their personal growth goals.  

I know this because I was that woman.  

The Facts are... I was born into generational poverty, living in the projects throughout my entire childhood. I remember the day I almost lost my life in a near-drowning incident, the sexual abuse, and the extreme anger and depression that consumed me.  I became a teenage mother and lived through most of my years as a single parent.  I was once married, but felt lonely and used. If that wasn't enough, I started a career but had no clue how to successfully manage my family's finances.  I had goals, with no direction on how to reach them. We were living with a Section 8 housing voucher and I had damaged my credit.  And...just when I felt my life was finally in a good place and true love found me, I suffered the sudden death of my partner and best friend. 

I was frustrated! I often felt like I didn't have enough to live the life I wanted! I felt life was unfair and that I wasn't enough!  

...LADIES, I KNOW YOU CAN RELATE TO ME ON SOME LEVEL! OH GIRL...

BUT WAIT,  I DIDN'T STOP THERE... I TOOK THE STEPS TO DEFINE MY WAY TO A BETTER FUTURE.

LIFE COACHING HELPED ME!

It ALL started with ME... SELF-DISCOVERY

I learned to advocate for, evaluate, and change ME

I got rid of the "clutter"

I found MYSELF

Took steps to understand SELF-LOVE and

Rebuilt my CONFIDENCE

I GOT SERIOUS ABOUT PERSONAL FINANCE

I created my first BUDGET (of many) 

I learned about and improved my CREDIT

Picked out and purchased that brand NEW CAR

Became a 1st-Time, 1st Generation HOMEOWNER before age 30 and

Bought a SECOND HOME before age 35

I TOOK PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL

I earned FOUR college degrees:

A Bachelor's Degree

TWO Master's Degrees and

A Specialist Degree

ALL with high honors

 ALL while working full-time and 

ALL while being a full-time mother of THREE

I KEPT TURNING MY DREAMS INTO MY REALITY

Throughout the journey, along each pathway, 

I learned to successfully and efficiently manage:

my family

my money

I WOULD OFTEN ASK MYSELF... WHY ME? IT FINALLY ALL MADE SENSE...
