Hey mama 👋🏽 I’m Ashley—aka—The Busy Balanced Paid Mom and founder of Defining My Way. 

I created this brand with a woman in mind—we’ll call her Jazmine.

She’s a mom with big dreams, a degree, and a to-do list that never quits.

Between school drop-offs, sports schedules, and side hustles, she’s trying to find time to breathe.

I was her.

I didn't start this journey with a fancy business plan or a big following. I started it with real struggles, a lot of grit, and a mission to help women like me (and Jazmine) take their lives back—starting with their time, their money, and their mindset. 

I’m a mom who’s lived through chaos and came out the other side determined to build an empire without losing myself in the process. This brand was born from real life. From juggling lesson plans and lunchboxes. From late nights, long to-do lists, and learning how to keep going even when life was heavy. 

I became a teen mom at 13. Grew up in the projects. Worked my way through college while raising three kids. I know what it feels like to cry over bills you can’t pay, to work a job that drains you, and to feel like your goals are always last on the list.

That’s why I created Defining My Way. It was Built From the Struggle—to give moms the tools, strategies, and support to stop surviving and start thriving. From budgeting and routines to digital products and mindset shifts, I help busy moms reset their purpose, get organized, and build systems that actually pay them—so they can live better now and build the legacy they deserve.

That’s why everything here—from the planners to the purpose maps—was built to help [her] reclaim her time, organize her money, and finally build something for herself.

You don’t need to do more.
