Whole Child Data Picture
The goal is not to collect more data. It’s to see enough of the picture to make a better leadership decision.

“No” is data too. If you don’t collect it — or you collect it and nobody puts it together — write that down. That’s a systems finding.
Look across the rows — not down one column.
- What keeps showing up in more than one lens?
- Where are the differences — grade, classroom, day, period, setting?
- Where does what we believe conflict with what the data shows?
- What are we missing that would change the story?
Our pattern statement
Pattern Before Person
Before we explain the student, what have we examined about the system?
1ONE pattern
The one that deserves our attention first.
2ONE question
What do we need to investigate before we act?
3ONE leadership action
What happens next — who owns it, and by when?
AI MOMENTWhat changed when the picture got bigger?
Using AI with your own data? Protect: remove anything that identifies a student. Verify: check the output. Own: your name goes on the decision, not the AI’s.
Taking this to your team? Run the same three steps with your leadership team in 60 minutes using the Whole Child Data Conversation Guide.
