The Day I Gave Myself Permission to Start Over
Share
Because starting again doesn’t mean you failed—it means you survived
There wasn’t a dramatic moment.
No big announcement.
No social media break or grand plan.
It was just me…
In my car.
Parked outside my kid’s school.
Tears threatening to spill because I realized I had no idea what I wanted anymore.
I was showing up for everyone else.
But I had stopped showing up for myself.
And that day, I whispered something that changed everything:
“I don’t want to do this like this anymore.”
I Thought I Had to Have It All Figured Out
I was the strong one. The reliable one.
The calendar keeper. The problem solver. The fixer. The cheerleader. The dream holder.
But somewhere along the way, I stopped asking myself…
“What do I need?”
I didn’t know what my next goal was.
I just knew I was tired of pretending I had one.
That’s when I realized:
You don’t need a 5-year plan to start over.
You just need permission to begin again—for you.
It Wasn’t Just Burnout. It Was Identity Loss.
What no one tells you is that sometimes we keep pushing because we’re afraid of what might happen if we slow down.
Will everything fall apart?
Will people stop needing us?
Will we have to sit with how lost we feel?
Starting over isn’t always about changing careers or launching a new business.
Sometimes it’s about remembering who you were before life buried her under survival.
That’s Why I Created the Busy Mom’s Purpose Map
I didn’t need a planner.
I needed a compass.
So I created a guide that helped me reconnect to:
- What actually mattered to me
- What gave me energy (instead of draining it)
- What I wanted next—not just what was urgent
The Busy Mom’s Purpose Map isn’t about productivity.
It’s about perspective.
It’s a soft place to land when you’re tired of being “on” for everyone else.
It’s a starting point for moms who are ready to re-choose themselves.
If You’re Reading This, Take This As Your Permission Slip
You’re allowed to slow down.
You’re allowed to question what no longer fits.
You’re allowed to start again—even if it’s messy. Even if no one else understands it.
You’re not broken.
You’re becoming.
